Cara and Mike's baby -- est arrivé!!

There's a new Weiss/Hess offspring in this world and her name is Alana. We drove up to the Hudson Valley Hospital on Route 202 to take a look at the little babe and her mither (Scottish for "mother" - never mind, it's an in-joke).

What a precious little girl! Weighing 6½ pounds and measuring 19½ inches and looking very sweet and gentle. Cara looked very sweet also. She's the oldest daughter of our oldest (meaning longest-known) friends, Janie and Mark. So this is, I think, the first grandchild in our circle of friends. Now that's a milestone - or an omen, anyway. How did we end up here at this point in time? That's what we all want to know.
