Waiting, waiting, waiting: I'm impatient for spring to come in full force. Meanwhile, a dull gray predominates --the flowers, however, push up regardless of the delayed season and my neighborhood is filled with the promising young blooms of pansies, daffodils and crocuses. Even the tulips are beginning to show, petals tucked safely inside, but visible, folded in their sturdy sheaves. Still, the sky remains a brooding, perpetual gray, the rains fall without letup and the temperature declines to climb to its normal level. This seems to be the way with New York city springs - late in coming and then quickly melding into hot, sticky summer.
Cloudy skies on Underhill Avenue.
